    1. Oh boy, it has to do with the conception and birth of john the Baptist, and oh man...

But that's the basis for the Dec. 25 date, John the Baptist conceived 6 months before Jesus, and this when his father ended his cyclic service as a priest according to schedules established by David and I forget how they went exactly. I have read an analysis of this sort that would place Jesus' birth at another time than Dec. maybe April, maybe that was another calculation, but it would depend on figuring out the timing of the priestly cycles or courses.
