Bible on "eternal security" (as understood by promoters of this doctrine)

The following is from a debate on youtube
regarding John MacArthur teaching eternal security, in the
comments section under the video Strange Fire Conference
Part 1

the original criticism is irrelevant to the issue of the video, the
charismatic deception. But someone put it there anyway,
either to undermine credibility regarding rejecting tongues
and (false) prophecy, or just to warn people not to accept John
MacArthur unquestioningly on all points just because he is right
on this one, I am not sure. This answer is the best collection of
Bible citations on the subject of "eternal security" I have seen yet.

● Disown Christ or he will disown you (Mt.10:33).

Why would we be given all of these CONDITIONS and WARNINGS for US to heed, if there were really no free will or Hell to be concerned about?  These are clearly CONDITIONAL warnings for believers.  "Believing" in Jesus is a continuing relationship of confidence and obedience. If you stop believing and choose to sin, then you stop being a believer, and you fall into unbelief. Paul talks about that in Romans 11 a lot. He said that some Jews were cut off, and, 'you too will be cut off if you do not continue in God's kindness.'  What's the point of all these warnings?? It is not the faith you had 20 years ago that will save you, it is the faith you have at the end. Stop believing the devil’s 1st lie of Gen.3:4 that sinning Christians won’t die.

  1. Good citations and well summarized! A believer must die to self, persevere and overcome. One must fight the good fight and finish the race set before us.
