"I favor neither big government nor small government. I seek effective government that creats a climate of opportunity where individuals can live and work creatively seeking novel solutions to seemingly intractable problems without suffocation by entrenched bureaucracies. At the same time governments have a solemn obligation to guarantee that every citizen has access to certain basic services including health insurance. This is not socialism it is just human decency - treating others the way we weould want to be treated if we were in their circumstances."
